(The Mighty Kymm--you'll not see nothing like!)

5 November

Funny how this doesn't feel like a weekend. Friday night I didn't feel that anticipation of this freedom ahead of me, it was more like one of those times where I feel that the weekend is over before it begins.

We actually rented rehearsal space this weekend, and I realized how much I like big cast shows, as is only cost us $7 each, both for yesterday and today added together!

I still don't know my lines very well. This is getting a little embarrassing. I'd say it was because it takes up so much of my brain, the directing, but I know that it's just because I am bone idle.

I'd say that I can't wait until it's over, except that would mean that I would have to start rehearsing the other show. Cynthia is pulling her hair out by the handfuls over it. Why the hell did I say yes?

After rehearsal last night I went to see Bring It On at the cheap theatre, and I really loved it!

I actually am a competitive cheerleading fan, in that if ever I'm flipping the channels and it's on ESPN2, I always stop, riveted, so this film had that going for it, but it also had winning performances pretty much all around and a fun story and good made-up expressions ("You were having cheer-sex with him!"). I think that it's right up there with Clueless for this brand of movie.

I particularly liked the Cutest Boy in All the Land, Jesse Bradford, who has such an air, such a seeming sense of himself, that I didn't feel like a big old child molester thinking that he's cute--always a plus.

I also liked the way that the gay character wasn't a big joke, so much so that I only noticed it later, that his talking to a guy that he thought was cute was a sweet moment, not set up in order to jeer at him.

What weird sport do you like?

And we're still talking about Hallowe'en costumes, death, Rocky Horror, being happy, romance, getting well-know phrases wrong, attending our high school reunions, and being from a small town.
