(The Mighty Kymm--you'll not see nothing like!)

31 March

Man, did I ever have a bad night last night.

I woke up about an hour and a half after I had gone to sleep, my mind reeling with a combination of packing eBay boxes and the movie I had just seen (Erin Brockovich), shaking so hard with cold that I was almost having convulsions, and completely unable to breathe.

I don't know what brought on this mother of all asthma attacks, as I didn't do any cleaning, and I don't think it's particularly pollen-y just now, but it was really bad. Nor do I know why I was so cold, as the windows were closed and I sleep with three blankets.

So, I got up and put on my bathrobe and went back to bed, but I couldn't lie down for ages, because I just couldn't breathe while lying flat. After a bit, I was able to fold up both of my pillows and lie down that way, as that propped me up enough to keep my air passage clear, to the distinct disapproval of Monty, who like to sleep on the pillow and it was too small that way, and went back to sleep.

I was afraid that I was going to throw up on the bed for awhile, and then the cats would have been really annoyed, 'cause that's their job. They might have informed the union.

So, yes, after the very short rehearsal last night (had I not arrived half an hour earlier than usual, I would have missed the whole thing, it was so short!) I was passing by the Loews on the way to the van and thought that I'd wander in and catch Erin Brockovich, which I've been dying to see for a while.

They were having a premiere of Stanley Tucci's new film, Joe Gould's Secret, as well, but considering the limos and the red carpet, I could only assume that it was invitation only.

I enjoyed Erin Brockovich very much, Julia was excellent, Steven Soderbergh always does great work, it was fun seeing Aaron Eckhart play what was basically the thankless girlfriend role, Cherry Jones needs to start getting cast in larger movie roles--there is a reason that she is considered the best actress on Broadway, and Albert Finney reminded me so much of my father, who would have been great in that role about twenty years ago.

The film was a trifle too long, but the story was fascinating and I loved it.

After coming home, I hung out with Cynthia and Fran for a bit and watched Wonderland.

FRAN
Is she going to lose the baby because this is a gritty drama?

CYNTHIA
No, 'cause when I did the show she was still pregnant.

FRAN
Inside information.

CYNTHIA
I do what I can. I should have some good face time in that show, 'cause they kept re-blocking things to get me in front of the camera, they liked what I was doing so much.

KYMM
Is that the show where you borrowed my slippers because you didn't have any footwear that was crazy enough?

CYNTHIA
Yeah, that was it.

KYMM
So you have me to thank, huh? Who was the actress that builds her performances from the shoes up? Besides The Crazy Ex-Love Creek Actress?

CYNTHIA
I can't remember.

(everyone is silent while watching an actress in panties and an undershirt destroy a room.)

KYMM
You can tell that she's crazy, because she's not wearing a bra.

FRAN
Her nipples are rigid with insanity.

KYMM
Did you ever hear the story about Marcia Strassman on Welcome Back, Kotter? They called her "Bullet", 'cause the second the turned the camera on her, her nipples snapped to attention, pow! They had to use gaffer's tape to keep the show from turning into Stay Home From Work Today, Kotter.

I have no ending to the above, because I think I just wandered away downstairs after the "Bullet" story. Whatever clever closer I have left my head when I was choking on my bed at 3a!
