4 March There isn't much I love more than getting up late enough to feel rested, but early enough to get my breakfast at McDonald's, after some strangely vivid dreams, and flipping around the channels to find that one of my favourite movies is on TV! Makes me feel that the day is off to a good start. The movie was Compromising Positions, which is one of those movies that nobody saw, but that everyone who did, loves. It certainly wasn't helped by the crappy title. It stars Susan Sarandon as a housewife who, Nancy Drew-like, solves the murder of her dentist, who was sleeping with all of the patients but her. She is aided and abetted by the sexy police Lieutenant, played by Raul Julia, and hindered by her disapproving husband, played by Edward Herrmann. It is hilarious, charming and marvelous, and you must see it immediately.
I dreamt about finding these two giant beasts in the driveway, one white, one black, that sometimes I thought were dogs and sometimes cats, that were sometimes about the size of a lion, but they could stretch to about seven feet in height. I was a little scared of them, but I could see that they wore collars and that their owner would probably be worried, so once I realized that they were friendly, I looked at their tags and saw that their owner was in Brooklyn, so I went to get a piece of paper to write the number down, but when I came back, they had gone. I also dreamt that I fucked my CFO for a $3 an hour raise, and woke up thinking that if I didn't have to completely undress or kiss him, if I could just bend over a desk, I sure as hell would fuck him for a $3 an hour raise!
It's nearly 4p, I should finish this, ain't? Last night was our company party, which was held at The Russian Tea Room, which is quite a piece of work. I dressed up, got some free food and free booze, watched the awards ceremony where everyone who has been at the company for five or ten years got a something or other, which I called the "Hotel California You Can Check Out Any Time You Like But You Can Never Leave" award. I'll get one next year if they forget that I left and came back again. And if I can hold out that long. Well, I had a swell time, then, after a short conversation with Linus where he managed to accidentally grab my chest twice, I realized that it was time to leave, so I did!
I'll talk about Friday tomorrow, I promise. Now I'm taking a nap. Ah, I love Saturdays in springtime.
