21 June So, I didn't go into work yesterday. I was feeling a little wonky, and I was going to leave early anyway for my last rehearsal in the space, so I just decided to take the day off, and a swell day off it was, indeed. I sat around the house, then sat around the backyard (it was a gorgeous day), then, best of all, I went into the city early and ran a couple of errands I have been putting off! I went to SAG and paid my dues only a month late rather than my usual year late, picked up a flyer for the SAG Film Society (I'm not screwing this up again this year!), then went to Modell's and got a new pair of jeans because, altogether now "My ass was hanging out of the old pair!" I grabbed three pairs, tried on the first, they fit fine so I didn't bother with the other two, looked at the price, and they were only $14.99, so I was all proud of myself. I realized later they were a little long, as I never can remember my inseam measurement, but I cuffed them and all is well.
Before I left the house, though, we had the Great Show Order Debate. When I checked my messages, there were all of these calls from my director, hundreds and hundreds of them (well, two) asking me to call Philip and ask him to change the show order back. I had no intention of doing that, but I did call Philip to discuss the whole thing with him. He said that he was leaving it up to the directors, and I said that as a director it didn't affect me, and as an actor I was letting go of the idea of having a break between directing and acting, because I am capable of thinking of someone other than myself for ten minutes at a time. As opposed to some other people. On my way to rehearsal I ran into Philip and asked what had happened, and he said that he had talked to the other director, and she had said "But what about poor Kymm?" which I thought was terribly sweet, and had said that she had a job that she had to be at at 10.30p during the run, and Philip told her to make my director run her show.
Then was rehearsal. I did the show that I'm directing first, which went like a dream, and was ten minutes shorter than it had been on Monday. Lissa asked afterwards whether it was rushed, but I said no, that everything was done fully, it was just faster! Then we did my other show, which was even slower and less funny than it had been the day before, if that was possible. And it was being videoed to send to Sabine's parents in Germany, so it was an excellent time to do the most ponderous version imaginable. When it was over and Bev got there, I gave her the keys to the space and said "Now that we've changed the order..." and Bev said "O no, we haven't changed the order, I can't be here, I have a job to get to!" and I said "Talk to my director, I don't care what we do!" and ran out the door. I knew that there would be a barney, and I didn't want to be there for it, I'm so over the whole thing. So, I suppose when I get there tonight, opening night, I'll find out what the order is!

What did you do the last time you played hooky? And we're still talking about the worst show we've ever seen or done, our fathers, episode 2 of The 1900 House, moviestar crushes, if it's silly to cry over a pet, and diets.
