What did I do yesterday? Worked for twelve hours, that's what! Yes, on a Saturday. You know what's interesting about working for twelve hours when you don't see anyone or speak to anyone or do anything but stare at a computer screen? Nothing, that's what!
Should make for a riveting entry.

O, I got my t-shirt and I wore it all day yesterday. I wore it with overalls, which sort of defeats the purpose, but since I wear my overalls half undone at all times, it really wasn't hidden.
I'm telling you, you walk down the street wearing a shirt advertising yourself, you walk tall, and with a spring in your step. It's an extremely strange experience. Pretty enjoyable, though.

Twelve hours. Twelve. Pretty much alone, though the lab is twenty-four hours so there were other people there. I still didn't get everything that I wanted to get done, but since I left at 2a, there wasn't much I could do about that. I certainly wasn't staying any longer.
One thing that happens at my office is, at 10p half of the lights turn off automatically. During the week, usually someone is there who knows how to turn them on again, but on the weekend, they just stay off.
It's actually easier to see my computer screen without all of the lights on, but, the half of the lights that go off include all of the bathroom lights, and my teeth felt so grimy that I had to go and brush them in the dark.
And it's not just dark, it's solid dark, absolutely light-free. You can literally have your eyes wide open and turn your head in all directions and not see anything at all. You think "Wow, this is just what it's like to be blind!"
You know, except for the fact that all you have to do to regain your sight is to walk out of the bathroom.
And how do you brush your teeth when you are blind? You put the toothpaste on your finger guiding it to the brush, and you worry about spitting on the faucet.

I meant to put up some back entries today, but here it is, 10.30p and I haven't yet. I may do so anyway, to make up for the fact that this entry is the dullest thing that I have ever written in my entire life.
My head feels like it is filled with cotton.

O, wait, here's a quiz! Karen, on one of the children's book lists, came up with the following quiz. How many of them do you know?
Can you name the book (title & author) which begins with each line? All first
lines are from children's or YA books.
1. "One Saturday morning early in September Shelley Latham sat at the
breakfast table with her mother and father."
2. "I don't know just why I'm telling you all this."
3. "It happened just the other day, to a boy named Roger."
4. "The way Mama could peel apples!"
5. ""It would have to rain today,' said Rush, lying flat on his back in front
of the fire."
6. "About two miles outside of Centerburg where route 56 meets route 56A
there lives a boy named Homer."
7. "When Mary Lennox was sent to Misselthwaite Manor to live with her uncle
everyone said she was the most disagreeable-looking child ever seen."
8. "They were not railway children to begin with."
9. "Just a few lines to open the record of my sophomore year."
10. "The first week of August hangs at the very top of summer, the top of the
live-long year, like the highest seat of a Ferris wheel when it pauses in its
turning."
Thank goodness for other people's good ideas, I'm sure not capable of providing content today! Answers tomorrow.

I know that Beth had a question like this on her book club forum a bit ago, but I have already proved not to have an original thought in my head today,
do you read children's books? Did you get any of the questions above, besides the two gimmes?
And we're still talking about
swearing,
our parents before they were parents,
hair disasters,
accidentally writing or talking like other people (see my answer revealed!),
being slobs,
our top ten songs,
conversations, and
Australian yumminess.

Today's horoscope:
Party time! A day of play with friends at whatever you enjoy the most. Concentrate on fun and leave serious stuff for another day.
One year ago today:
O yeah, and of course I'll never be truly happy until Melody starts writing her journal again, too!
