10 February Shit, I managed to hit snooze until 9.25, which is waaaay too late to write a decent length entry (o yeah? Then what was your excuse all the rest of this month?), so this will be brief.
Yesterday I had my first rehearsal since Sunday, my third rehearsal with one of my actresses, and my last rehearsal before tech tonight, when Le will see it, and you know what? It rocked the house! Cynthia, on the basis of a few notes at the end of rehearsal on Saturday, made her character much lighter, Michael got the regalness I needed, Felicia was much younger and bubblier, Deborah changed her entire character because I left her a message while she was at her grandfather's funeral telling her that I had decided that her character and Nicole's were too much alike, Omar was hilariously playing his character as Renfield before he met Dracula, Ant'ny was much faster and more powerful, Chris delineated between his two character much better, Nicole had timed all her entrances beautifully, and Fred actually made his characterization, that I thought was perfect on Sunday, even deeper. As I said to them, "If I has known that you guys would improve so much by not rehearsing, I wouldn't have bothered having any rehearsals at all! It certainly would have been easier for me!"
So now that I know that this show is solid and funny, anyone wanna come? It runs Friday, Saturday and Sunday this week (11, 12, 13) at 9p and next week (18, 19, 20) at 7p at 410-412 W. 42nd St. between 9th and 10th on the 4th floor, tickets are $12. My show is called The Seductive Countess, but the evening is called Two By Moliere or something like that. And my show is first, so don't be late!
There are a few journals that simply everyone reads that I never got around to, though I was always planning to, you know, when I had the time. Which isn't now. But yesterday I was submarined by Rob in this entry where he says that a funny thing happened to him and the story was in this entry in Bobofett. Do you know how many mentions of "you have to read Dana!" in miriad entries by half the world that I have managed not to act on immediately? "No no," I would think, "I will read Bobofett real soon, but not today, I haven't got time!" Well, this time I clicked, I read, and I was lost. Dammit. By the way, this entry made me laugh so hard that I startled the cats.
