2 February Hey look, it's an new month! Meghan didn't make me a background or a dividing line, but I like the starkness, so I just adapted a line that I already had and went with the plain black background. It's Valentine's month and I'm in mourning for love! That was a joke. I think. No, it was a joke. Probably.

And speaking of feeling famous, I bought a Green Mile t-shirt on ebay the other day, confirmed my purchase, and got a note back from the seller that mine was the first journal that she ever read! I'm always surprised when I get recognized in areas of the web that have nothing to do with journalling. I feel like when I had slumber parties when I was a kid and none of my friends knew each other--there would be one girl from school and one from dance class and one from horseback riding and one from the neighourhood, and the first hour would be awkward, but that was the way things were, my life was very compartmentalized. So this was like a girl from summer school showing up in my tap class, you know? Weird, but cool. I think I've tangented myself entirely out of making sense. Never mind me.
Had a fun evening checking out what people have bought through my Amazon link. For those worried about privacy, it's just a list of items, no names. Somebody's a travel book junkie--I can only assume that the same person bought Baghdad Without a Map : And Other Misadventures in Arabia, Catfish and Mandala : A Two-Wheeled Voyage Through the Landscape and Memory of Vietnam, Expats : Travels in Arabia, from Tripoli to Teheran, and Motoring With Mohammed : Journeys to Yemen and the Red Sea (Vintage Departures). I love travel books. Thanks alot, whoever bought these, because I put most of them on my wishlist! It's not like there's enough crap on there. Somebody got Watermelon, one of my favourites, and somebody got Lucy Sullivan Is Getting Married, which I sure hope they liked better than I did! Somebody got a bunch of Yellow Submarine toys, this one and this one and this one and this one! Man, I didn't even know that these existed. Hey, somebody got one of my favourite movies in the world, Passion Fish! Who are you? Did you like it? Again, thanks guys.
And speaking of pimping your site to make some extra scratch, speaking of selling out to The Man, speaking of sending your site down to the meat packing district to give hummers in cars, there's always AllAdvantage. It's this advertising bar that goes at the bottom of your screen and they pay you for having it open while your surfing, and (full disclosure) they pay you for anyone who joins under you, too. The important thing is that it's not permanent, you can close it down if you like, and it's not particularly annoying, so why the hell not have it?
