(The Mighty Kymm--you'll not see nothing like!)

13 April

So yesterday, through dint of great perseverance on his part, Michael was able to batter through the many layers of my absent-mindedness and meet me for lunch.

I have this appalling habit of, whenever someone says that they are coming to town, always thinking that I have plenty of time, and then missing them entirely. And it has nothing to do with me avoiding the person or not wanting to see them, it just has to do with the fact that I'm a big doof.

Yesterday, though, I managed to have lunch with Michael.

He rang me from a payphone, and I thought he was on my block, but then I realized that he had said that he was two long blocks away, so I decided to walk up the street to meet him.

"Gee," I thought, "The only thing I remember about how he looks is that he has all that hippie hair, hope he didn't cut it!" and then this short-haired guy walks up to me and says "Kymm?" so luckily he has a better memory for faces than I do!

He looks much better with short hair, it was a good call.

So we walked up to McDonald's for lunch, sat down, and he pulled out a little index card.

MICHAEL
I made some notes so that I wouldn't forget what I wanted to talk about.

ME
Are you always this big a dork?

MICHAEL
I sure hope not!

He pulled out the programme from Rimers (that Sharp-Eyed Reader David pointed out to me was spelled Rimers of Eldritch, not Eldridge when I was looking for it last week) and made me sign it, which I felt very silly doing, but I was so grateful to get my character name that I did so with little protest.

Anyway, it was very nice seeing him, and it was nice to be forced to go outside, because it was a beautiful, if nippy, day, and I would have missed it!

(three balls)

Gotta go, gotta get to work early so that I can see Katie's extravaganza tonight. Catch you on the flip.

Shaun Cassidy, now that was a teen idol to scream about, not these monkey boys.
