14 September Ahem. Relief map. I knew that.
So yesterday I took a minute in the afternoon to run to the library and pay off the remainder of my giant library fine and get the first books that I have been able to take out in three years. I got all of the things that I have been dying to re-read--the first four Narnias (using the old book numbering, not this ridiculous "Magician's Nephew is first" crapola), the first two Anne books (of course, I have all of these, but I don't know where they are packed away), and all of the Elisabeth Hamilton Friermoods that I could stagger away with. It reminded me of the beginning of Seven Day Magic, where they get the books from the library and they start reading their new books as soon as they start walking home. Of course, I walk down the street reading anyway, but there's something really special about reading a library book that you've read a hundred times before.
I have learned an important lesson. Don't eat dinner while reading a discussion of semen and the swallowing thereof on Diary L. Yeah yeah yeah, semen is natural and beautiful and all of the best people swallow enthusiastically, but so is pus and menses natural (though I don't know about swallowing) but I still don't particularly want to read about it while eating.
Finally, after three and a half years, proof that I do indeed have four cats. Here is Milo. Apparently being abducted by aliens.
