(The Mighty Kymm--you'll not see nothing like!)

25 October

So, it was a two-party weekend, 'cause I'm such a jet-setter!

Last night was the Love Creek 15th Anniversary party, and I was the official photographer. All night people kept coming up to me and saying that it was too bad that I didn't have more time to talk to people, but I replied that I was grateful that I didn't have to spend all night talking to people!

I mean, it was fun seeing all of my friends, but so many conversations went like this:

"Hi!"
"Hi!"
"Great to see you, how've you been?"
"Fine, you?"
"Good. What's up with you?"
"O, you know, stuff."
"Yeah, me too."

...silence...

We had an awards thing, which was the real reason that I was taking pictures.

At the house I said to Cynthia that it was pretty damn obvious that I wasn't getting one, or Le wouldn't have asked me to shoot the ceremony, but I was wrong!

I got Best Supporting Actress in a Full-Length for Rimers of Eldridge, the show I was doing just a year ago, so those year-ago-today links will come in handy if you want to read about that extravaganza. As I recall, it was a pain in the ass experience, but I got a prize, so hey!

And the awards were voted on by the membership, but not Rep, the top level of the company, so it wasn't just people who have known each other for ten years voting for their friends.

After the awards, everyone danced and I took a pile of pictures. God only knows how they'll turn out because it was dark as the bottom of a coal mine in there, it was like shooting inside someone's mouth, but it they turn out, I've got some blackmail-worthy shots.

Thomas kept trying to get me on the dance-floor, but I was shooting. Finally I stopped, and Gregg David took me out.

Mary Eileen was dancing much harder than a person named Mary Eileen ought to, and ended up falling on her back with her dress over her head. I sure wished that I hadn't put my camera down at that point, but there's always a picture that you don't get. Too bad that was the one, though.

Today's horoscope:
Finances improve. A project begins to pay off. You see the light at the end of the tunnel.

It's 1.29p! What am I still doing here? I have to go!
