(The Mighty Kymm--you'll not see nothing like!)

16 October

So on Thursday I left work early and raced home to get my flu shot, just making it under the wire before they closed, paid my ten bucks, got stuck, and went home all mighty and flu-free (see one year ago today link, below).

Yesterday, with the shot spot on my arm hot and red and swollen and itchy (just a little bit of each, it's not a big reaction), I got a memo at work touting free flu shots next week!

The bastards were just lying in wait for me to get my shot, don't think I don't know that! Is everything about me? Natch!

Yesterday was One Of Those Days at work, but I don't know why, maybe because it was Friday, nobody was tense or upset. Everyone was very fatalistic--"I'll get as much done as I can get done" kind of thing.

First of all, at noon the accounting system stopped working, for everyone. This is a problem, because there are checks that I cut on Friday, paychecks for everyone who is not on payroll, the courier expense checks, the consultants, and any other emergencies (yesterdays were a tax check that needed to be postmarked that day and a phone company check).

It turns out that they were upgrading the system, but that they had said that they weren't going to shut down until 5p. It was only five hours early, what were we complaining about?

So they were bullied into turning everything back on for an hour and a half and I slammed out those checks, they shut it off, and we all shrugged our shoulders and said "Ah well, c'est la vie, c'est la guerre, c'est la vie militaire!"

Or at least, I did.

I left work at 4.30p, actually, to get to the dentist to get those last two fillings replaced. Of course, I didn't have time to have lunch before the Super Shot, so starvation ensued.

So my sore tooth isn't sore anymore, though at one point I asked him if he was drilling to China, he drilled so long and so much, it wasn't bad.

Back to work when it was over to help out with the scanning of invoices, so that we can get rid of our temps (hey, I like our temps!) that much sooner, and I did for two hours until I realized that I was totally falling asleep, so I thought shine this for a box of quarters, and went home.

In re this loathsome slander, I did not! I don't know who did that search, but it was not meeeeeee!!!!!

Of course, I will now...
