3 October Sick. Sick sick siiiiiiiiiick. And I had the worst night's sleep known to man last night, the worst that I have ever had that didn't actually involve an asthma attack. It wasn't that I couldn't sleep, it was that I kept waking up every ninety minutes or so all night long, get up to pee since I was up and all, lay back down, pet the cats who all were taking advantage of this whole "being up" thing, try to find a position to lie in, but since I only sleep in three different positions, when they all make you ache, this is problematic. Finally find one, the cats settle down, sleep, and repeat an hour and a half later.
I did actually leave the house yesterday, staggering out into the world to meet Melissa, her roommate Steve, and Annegrrl for supper downtown. I was late, of course, but that was entirely Anne's fault, as I thought that I should check out her journal if I was going to meet her. Well, it's so fresh and funny and fabulous that I kept going "One more entry. Just one more and I'll shower" until I was half an hour later getting into the shower than I had planned! I told her "Had you been considerate enough to be a little more mediocre, I'd have been more prompt!"
We ate someplace diner-y (thank goodness, thought Difficult Me) and talked and talked and talked. We had the swellest of times. Afterwards, Anne had to go meet someone, so Steve and Melissa and I walked the three miles to the Port Authority, stopping at Virgin and Krispy Kreme, exactly as I did the other day. Very deja vu, but it was at Melissa and Steve's request, so I complied. O yeah, like I need my arm twisted to eat donuts and buy cds, yup. And, of course, I was the only one to buy any cds. Virgin didn't have what they were looking for, so they didn't get anything! Imagine that! It's like they're from another planet. Me, I got Troubadours Of British Folk: Vol. 2, 'cause I have had Troubadours Of British Folk: Vol. 1 for years and it's all lonely. Also we stopped at Fish's Eddy (hey, the website's finally up!), 'cause Melissa exclaimed that it was her favourite store, and I had to show her my Cynthia Rowley plates. But did she who's favourite store this is buy anything? Of course not! Did I get another Cynthia Rowley plate (that's three now!) and a cheese shaker? Of course I did! Then we went to Krispy Kreme and each got three donuts, two for now and one for later. This is the perfect number, because one isn't enough and three is too many for now, because once you have two you never want to see another donut again, until the next morning when you say "Gee, I wish I had another Krispy Kreme...Wait, I do!"
God, I really must drag myself to Gregg David's rehearsal now, after canceling the last two. He sounded very pathetic on the phone, and it does open Thursday.
