(The Mighty Kymm--you'll not see nothing like!)

27 November

Well, yesterday was a day of great accomplishment.

Okay, it was actually a day of minor accomplishments, but there were several, so altogether they added up to a single great accomplishment.

For my first accomplishment, I slept until noon, which was marvelous. Then I puttered and wrote my entry and played far too many games of Snood (I'm in real trouble with that game!), then went to work.

But Kymm, I hear you cry, I thought you were taking the day off, why on earth did you go into work! Well, it wasn't to work, it was to do personal stuff--that's where the accomplishments come in, you see.

The first thing I did was I finished the Christmas card. I was supposed to finish it earlier this week and Mom should have had it by now, but I was too busy at work to take the time, and had to rush away afterwards for rehearsals.

I had done the inside, what used to be the poem when my Da wrote it, and now isn't a poem at all, though we still call it that, ages ago, I just had to do the cover. So I just buckled down and chose fonts and drew balloon and cut out pictures and it all ended up beautifully.

I made certain that FedEx wasn't coming early, and waltzed down with confidence at 6.30p. Only to find that FedEx had indeed come early, and wasn't coming back, because there was nothing left to pick up. Sigh. So it'll go out today instead.

Then I went back to my desk and packed up the tapes I need to send for the tape loop, packed up the ornament I'm sending for the Ornament Exchange on the Betsy-Tacy list, wrote three checks for books that I recently won in lottery, separated Michelle's pictures from my copies and wrote her an invoice.

I was astounded at the whirl of activity! The tapes don't need to be sent until December, I have until the 15th to send the ornament, I'm so ahead of myself it's scary! Of course the checks should have been sent ages ago and I finished the pictures two weeks ago (or was it three?) and I just never had a chance to meet up with Michelle and give them to her.

The invoice looked like so much, but I included the price that if would have been without the volume discount that rather than seeming hideously high, it seemed reasonably low. It's all in the perception, baby.

Sigh...had I been able to go to Boston as I meant to do, I would been there when this entry was written.

Not that it's an entry about exciting things that I missed, it's just the fact that I'm missing Jette. And Columbine and Patrick and Robert. Sigh. But at least I finished the Christmas card!

"Mom, Mom, what do I do with this turkey?!"
