(The Mighty Kymm--you'll not see nothing like!)

I love how my hair feels right after I dye it.

It's just sort of this mass of heavy, silky curls down my back. Very pre-Raphealite. (I'm assuming that is the correct spelling, Eudora spellcheck prefers "Radicalize", "Rascality" and "Rapscallion". Pre-Rapscallion curls?) If only it felt that way for more than one day every six weeks, I'd consider keeping it long, but the other five weeks six days it's all knotty and frizzy and un-cooperative.

Willow's haircut, here I come!

Sunday I spent the day in the darkroom, listening to Sense and Sensibility again.

This is the third time I've watched that movie in the darkroom, first straight, then with Emma Thompson and Lindsay Doran's commentary, then Ang Lee and James Schamus' commentary. I'm just about ready to write a dissertation on the film, and I probably should move on to something else before I end up hating it!

I did finish the Wedding that Wouldn't End, though, thank God. I just have to deliver the prints and write an invoice and I can move on with my life.

I also did Fran's headshots and realized that the lesson learned from that shoot (there's always something new) is that when the actor says "O, I'll just wear this shirt, the wrinkles don't matter!" to tell them not to be lazy and grab the damn iron, because those shots are all about the creases folded into the shirt in question. Also, the arms are a little blousey, so in one shot he looked like he was trying to hide a massive deformity.

In one of them, though, the look on his face is engaging enough to overshadow the rag-bag bum look, so we won't have to do it again. Thank goodness, because it took long enough to get him in front of the camera with a shave and a haircut, I won't manage again until his and Cynthia's silver anniversary!

Then, that night, I had the first rehearsal for my new show.

Have I not mentioned my new show? Well, about a year ago I mentioned to a writer I like that I would love to see some of her plays, and that if I wanted to do one at Love Creek, I'm certain that I would be able to, so she sent me two and I read one, which I liked, but the cast was too big.

Then I forgot to read the other one. I know you are all shocked at this revelation, 'cause I'm so organized and all, but 'tis true. Anyway, at last, a couple of months ago I read the second show, loved it, asked Le if I could do it, asked Cynthia if she'd be in it, asked an actor that I like very much at the party if he wanted to do it, got Le to give me another actress, and last night we read it through for the first time.

O, who's the writer? Why Pamie is, of course!

And we will be the first cross-journaller production because we open before Melissa and Kate's production of Antigone.

Hey, look who's back!

Today's horoscope:
Keep the channels of communication open with your family. If you are truly interested in what they tell you, they will share more.

One year ago today:
Comes a time when one realizes that one's personal habits have become so appalling that it is time to stop living alone!
