Another spring-fevery day yesterday, but The Raccoon wasn't being lazy along with me. She had to set a good example for our new part-timer, I suppose. Either that or she just doesn't have two lazy days in a row!

I, on the other hand, am feeling remarkably accomplished, due to the fact that I finally did my taxes last night!
I have been telling Mom that I have been doing them for simply months, but yesterday I took all my receipts with me to work and did it there. Of course, it turns out that the whole thing took less than two hours to do, which made me think:
"That is what I have been avoiding doing since January?"
I waited and walked out with Nik last night, since it was his last day at work for awhile, as he is going on vacation.
On Friday he's going to Miami Beach to lie in the sun and turn brown (he may look like a pasty Irishman, but in reality he's a blonde Italian and tans in seconds), and then when he gets back the two of us are going to Philadelphia at last!
Yes, I know that we have been talking about it since the 4th of July and it's fallen through a million times before, but we went to a bookstore on Sunday to look in guidebooks and buy a city map and I have arranged to take the 9th off, and I'm calling bed-and-breakfasts and booking accommodations while he's in Miami and we're going to go to the zoo and the museum and the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall and that bookstore on South St. that I'm in love with.
We're really, truly going at last!
Somehow, out of the eighteen tape copies that I thought were done, five were blank and two had dreadful squealy sounds on them. I really kinda hope that I haven't sent out anything blank or squealy, but if anyone gets one, please let me know and I'll replace it right away!
