(The Mighty Kymm--you'll not see nothing like!)

So last night Tracing and I went to the last SAG screening of the season, An Ideal Husband, which was just lovely.

Rupert Everett is one of those gay men whom you wish would give some sort of Open University class to straight men on How To Be Fabulously Attractive In All Ways To Women.

Anyway, he was just swell, as were everyone else. I will say one thing, though, I can only imagine that everyone who thinks that Julianne Moore was doing a good English accent is stone deaf. It isn't entirely bad, but (as I figured out when Tracing the Actual English Person and I the Know-It-All Dialect Coach hashed it out afterwards) she spoke in such a clipped manner that her long sounds were far too short, though her short sounds were good.

Man, is anything more boring than a dialect geek?

I have also decided that, though I like Minnie Driver and think that she's charming and talented and stuff (particularly in my beloved Grosse Pointe Blank), she was most attractive in Circle of Friends.

Why? Because with a little more weight on her, you don't notice the fact that she has just the most enormous head!

Now she's skinny as a rail and there's this massive head with the jaw of a praying mantis balanced precariously on this toothpick neck, with this tiny bony body below, trembling under the weight of it.

Please, Minnie, have a donut, you'll feel better and by God you'll even yourself out a bit!

So it was all hot and nice today (not humid and with a breeze) and I was thinking that thank goodness it would be nice for the Fleadh on Saturday and that I wouldn't drown and/or ruin my shoes like last year.

When The Racoon and checked the weather online, as we are wont to do, I remarked on that fact to her, as I noticed with satisfaction that on my weather website it said "Saturday--Fair. Lows in the mid 60s. Highs in the mid to upper 80s."

And she said " Mine says scattered thunderstorms."

It was fine the once, made a good story to tell, but not two years in a row, please!

In the helpful hints from readers department, yesterday my One Year Ago Today link actually linked to one year ago today rather than yesterday (my head is spinning!), so if you missed out of reading the fabulous amazing and blah blah blah entry of a year ago yesterday, click here.

Thanks, Shmuel!

Today's horoscope:
In sharing ideas, you're unsure how much to shock others and how much to avoid making waves. Mental comfort vies with innovation.

One year ago today:
"What's that green spot? Why is it all fuzzy? Hey, WAIT a minute!!"
