(The Mighty Kymm--you'll not see nothing like!)

So, official word came down about raises for Operations yesterday, and Nik got 3.5% and was very upset. Then I talked to The Raccoon, who said that nobody was getting more than 3%, and some people only 2% (raises haven't come down for Admin yet). So I told Nik that he was clearly the most valued worker in the company, since he got that extra 1/2%!

I don't know about you, but by me, 3% isn't a raise, it's a tip.

I was listening to my Talking Heads Greatest Hits cd all yesterday, Sand in the Vaseline, and I swear...

I mean, some music just belongs to a certain time and place, and for me, Talking Heads is firmly entrenched in 1984, the year Stop Making Sense came out and I saw it eight times (five times in one day) at the 8th St. Playhouse, and subsequently bought all of their albums in a row and fell madly in love with David Byrne.

So, if it's 1984, I must be 20, right? I'm still at NYU, I'm living at Rubin Hall, I'm dating Geoff Welchman on and off, and I'm really skinny. I kept looking around my cubicle thinking, "Well, how did I get here?"

So, of course I forgot to pick up the paper yesterday, and of course the article about Webring and Open Pages was in it! And I know not because one of my so-called-friends told me, but a from guy who submitted himself to OP!

C'mon, guys, anybody not throw away the paper yet?

I found the article on the web, though, it's here, and OP is linked and I am mentioned, and here is my deathless quote:

"Geocities is generally loathed because of its hideous pop-up ads and the watermark," said a Webmaster for a ring, Kymm Zuckert of Weehawken, N.J., referring to the advertising pages that attempt to capture the interest of visitors to Geocities sites and to the Geocities' watermark, an animated G that often appears. "If Geocities tries to do any of that with Web Ring, there will be a massive exodus."

There it is! My moment in the sun. I can die happy now.
