(The Mighty Kymm--you'll not see nothing like!)

19 February

Rain yesterday.

It was pissing down when I left the house, and I brilliantly thought to bring my slippies so that I didn't have to answer all of the "where are your shoooooooes?" questions like last time.

However, shod or no, it was another day of hysteria.

Why is it that all of our lab vendors suddenly want every penny owed right now all at once? Kathleen says that everyone must have collectively had bad first quarters.

It really is getting bad at work, in terms of being swamped with work and no time to do it.

The Raccoon was on the phone with the AP person at the New Jersey office that we just bought, sort of gently letting her in on the news that getting their invoices paid before 60 days would take an act of God, and the Jersey girl said that she was the only person in her AP department, and they got as many as fifty invoices a month!

The Raccoon told her that we get around 1000 invoices a month. "Wow! How many people are in your department?" "Two."

The Raccoon went to The Evil Overlord on bended knee, begging for a new person for the department--even a part-timer would do. She asked if I would do more overtime instead. Now, I had unlimited overtime, then I had no overtime, then I had 5 hours max overtime, and now it's 10 hours max.

Makes up for that crappy raise!

In the wide world, there is nothing smoother right now than my legs.

I did something last night that I have never done before, you see. I changed the blade in my razor. I have had that razor, the kind that isn't disposable, for a couple of years now, and I've probably used it for about a solid year without changing the blade. I am very blade thrifty! No, actually, I just kept forgetting!

Well, when I shaved my legs on Saturday, I noticed afterwards that there was approximately one hair difference between the before and after, and it dawned on me that perhaps the blade was a trifle dull.

Usually I don't throw out a razor until I can see rust on the edges, and there wasn't any so it hadn't occurred to me until that moment that I bought this razor to take to London with me in 1997.

Anyway, shaved my legs with the new blade and my legs are so smooth and fabulous that I plan on changing the blade daily from now on, whether I shave or not!

There is the most glorious palaver going on in Diary-L.

What makes it glorious is that, for the most part and with only a couple of glaring exceptions, the posts are elegantly worded, beautifully put, and straight to the heart. Really nasty of course, don't get me wrong, but never less than eloquent.

I'm having the time of my life.

Today's horoscope:
Talk about it, plan for it, fantasize, and maybe do it--but anticipating may be more fun than taking action.

One year ago today:
"I just wanna win so that I don't have to go into work Monday and have to unpack everything!"
