5 February Yesterday was one of those days where you feel as though you are running and running all day long, but that you aren't getting nearly enough actually done. All I wanted was to be left alone so that I could do the POs and do them properly, but that was clearly too much to ask. It didn't help that everything in the whole office crashed for awhile, including the phones.
After work we teched the show, and, to make absolutely clear how casually I am taking the whole thing, I arrived ten minutes late on purpose (I knew they weren't going to need me right away) and had forgotten half of my costume at my desk. Also, as I walked onstage, I looked down and saw the tell-tale glint from my nose. I told the director afterwards that I would try my darndest to remember to take the ring out when we were actually in performance! It's a much bigger ring than I used to wear, too, so I couldn't hope that it wouldn't be noticed like all of the other times that I forgot to take it out while doing a period play.
Anyway, as techs go it was remarkably tension-free, and was done by 7.30p! The whole evening is only an hour long, and everyone's pretty good and no-one embarrasses themselves unduly. Relatively painless, I'd say. And only twelve dollars!
I am very pleased to say that, like Renee, Tess took down her password protection. Score one more point again rampant assholism on the web!
