22 December Congrats Rob and Julie, and welcome Schuyler Noelle!! Good luck with having that birthday so near Christmas, missy!
So I've spent the last few days in furious Christmas Vacation mode, full speed ahead. On Monday, Mom and I went to Target, which she has taken to calling Le Tarzhay in a completely un-ironic manner, what with her being Belgian and all. I put the finishing touches on my Christmas shopping, getting Donald's present as well as Molly's birthday present (in January) and my card for Mom, getting distracted momentarily by the craft aisle and getting some scissors that scis in cool patterns and fabulous paper punches that I've seen Martha use and bright coloured paper and a multiple-colour stamp pad, all of which I am pretending to use on Teri's present. Actually, I actually will use it on her present, but I mean that I pretended that I was buying it for her rather than for me. My inner crafty person is starting to inch out. Then we went to the supermarket and had our annual traditional Buying Of Everything In the Store, Only Half of Which I Eat Before Going Back to New York So Mom's Stuck With It.
Then yesterday was more shopping, after getting my hair dyed. It's almost a shame to waste dye on the two feet of my hair that's getting cut off this morning, but on the other hand, who wants to get a beautiful haircut and have the hair be all long roots and faded badness? Not me! Then we looked at some clothes at a shop my Mom frequents, a shop that sometimes has stuff to fit me, but were I rich and thin, I'd buy everything available. It's always cutting edge fashion, but also always cool and tasteful. Somehow. Anyway, there was a loose black sweater with white flecks that I fell in love with, but Mom's waiting for the January sale to get it for me. It was great, because it was loose, but yet didn't make me look as though I were in my ninth month. Then was the fab Century City, where I got more of that great Victoria's Secret underwear from last year, and really let my inner craft person out by spending $30 in the rubber stamp store. I know I've got a long way to go before becoming a real Rubber Stamp Loon, but I feel myself sliding down that slippery slope. Help!
When we got home, we were all collapsing, but I have fourteen movie passes to use up by the 31st (yes, again), and I figured that I had best get started. So I went around the corner to Universal Citywalk and saw Toy Story 2. Yowsa! I know I'm late saying this, but it really was better than the first one. The story was top-notch, and the animation has improved beyond all measure (especially in terms of the human characters) and I just floated out of the theatre.
In other journaller news, thanks to Kim for letting us know that Gwen has moved without putting a forward on her old site. This Entry of Lucy's is notable because it contains the very first Geo IQ question that I could actually answer! Look how bad Colleen is! I cannot believe that anyone would open every single gift four days before Christmas!
