(The Mighty Kymm--you'll not see nothing like!)

1 December

My God it's cold.

I saw Enrique Iglesias singing through blue lips outside in the Plaza on the Today Show with the band and backups in parkas, huddling together from the wind and I thought that it might be just about time to move the performances inside until Spring!

So the show opened last night and went very well indeed, I thought. We didn't get all of our laughs, but the audience was small, and we did get a bunch of them.

And I didn't mess up any of my sound cues, unlike at the tech which made me even happier!

The best bit was that I finally found the proper words to get Sabine to speak the hell up. She's very talented, but has a habit of bringing her voice down to inaudibility, and saying "Talk louder" doesn't help because she's not really aware that she's doing it.

At the tech, though, she was quiet in places where she's never been quiet before, and afterwards she said that she felt at sea at places where she has always been solid before, so I put these two things together and told her that she gets quiet when she feels unsure of herself, and to be aware of that fact.

And it worked!

There is a Diary L thread on online shopping, and Amazon's shipping practices were mentioned and praised by someone, to which I answered:

"However, keep an eye on those shipping costs. Cynthia and I were buying stuff together the other day to save on said shipping, I ordered 20 things and the shipping was $13, Cynthia ordered 5 things and the shipping was suddenly $63.

"Through trial and error, we found out that the thing boosting the cost was a $7 DVD of a Cary Grant movie that was listed as a "special order". Pretty special!

"For $50 shipping, Cary Grant should rise from the grave and deliver it personally."

There is a lovely December design in the wings, but I cannot be bothered just now!

Today's horoscope:
You are more practical about people today (but don't turn people into a "chore" or burden). You can improve a relationship.

One year ago today:
"Aren't you glad that we're us and we're not them?"
