Why do I have this overwhelming feeling that this is going to be a great summer?

When we were on the train coming home from Philadelphia, we were talking about what there was to look forward to now that "going to Philadelphia" was no longer on the list, and there's just so much fun stuff coming up!

Let's see, in May there's Star Wars, and yes, I am just geeky enough to be taking the day off work to go to the movie (Nik already doesn't work on Wednesdays), in June there's the Fleadh, in August we're going to see the Dodgers play the Mets (I may be the only Dodger fan in Shea that day!), and at some point there's Coney Island and the Cyclone and the Wonderwheel (if I can get him on it, since he's scared of heights).

And this weekend is The Matrix! I haven't looked forward to summer like this since I was a kid.

I love the commercials for those new information services where you need no information to start with.

Somehow I really doubt that if you call and say "I'm looking for Bob. No, I don't know where he lives, you're supposed to find him!" that they will be able to pull his number magically out of their collective asses.

"No, I'm not going to tell you whose number I want. Guess!"

There was the worst comic on Leno last night. Not bad so much as sort of completely unfunny in a really dull way, but he got applause at the end of every joke.

I don't know if it was because nobody in Leno's audience has a sense of humour (certainly likely) or because the comic was crippled. I hope the former, because my God the latter would be condescending.
