1 April Yesterday was so beautiful that my heart hurt. It was so beautiful that I took lunch for a whole hour for the second time this week! I never take lunch, I'd rather get the overtime, but it was 75°, light breeze, no humidity... Worth paying for.
While I was out I went to Columbus Circle and ate my sarney sitting in the sun at the feet of Columbus himself, then, for my own personal Springtime Celebration, went to the street market and bought stuff! I got four of those butterfly hair clips with the flapping wings that you see the kids wearing (I'm taking my fashion tips from ten year olds these days), a more expensive (and less likely to break in three days) butterfly hair clip, a ring that you're supposed to wish on and bury in the earth when it breaks (a good way to explain away cheap rings "No, it's supposed to break!") and two new nose rings in neon green and neon pink.
I put in the green one saying:
Yesterday morning I got this thrilling email saying that I was favourably mentioned in this article and to put up their logo if I wanted, so I hippety-hopped over there, and searched and searched but... I wasn't there. Open Pages was mentioned, but not my journal. I was VERY SAD! So I wrote the author and complained. Jokingly, of course! But honestly, if I were as pushy and ego-driven in real life as I am on the net nothing could stop me! Anyway, the article is good, even with that troubling omission, and I'm putting the logo up anyway, since the last time .net magazine did an article on on-line journals I really truly was in it, so it isn't a lie.
Got two more tapes in my tape trade! Catherine sent me one called Good Love/Bad Love (I'm trading her I'm In Love I'm In Love I'm In Love..., which I think is very apt), and Michelle sent me the first of five, which isn't very mix-y 'cause it's only one artist, but it's one really good artist that I've never heard of, so it worked out well! Both tapes are excellent. I love this tape trade!
I have found out why DeNiro's hair was so weird on the Oscars. It is because he is currently shooting a live-action/cartoon combo version of Rocky and Bullwinkle and he's essaying the role of Fearless Leader. I know that looks like a wacky April Fool's jest on my part, but it's really true. Personally, I'm speechless.
I really have got to dye my hair. My roots are so prominent, I look like the flag of Syria. And if you don't think that I spent half an hour trying to find a flag that was white red and black striped just so that I could make that joke, you don't know me very well!
O my God, go here! If I ever retire, I know who gets the job!
