(The Mighty Kymm--you'll not see nothing like!)

20 November

I am not looking forward to Thanksgiving.

Well, of course I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving dinner with Nik, and I really could use four whole entire days off in a row, but my point is that The Raccoon won't be at work tomorrow, and I can only get so much done on my own, also, I matched about 200 purchase orders to invoices, which means that I will get them back from Finance next week and we'll have to enter them, not to mention trying to do a week's worth of work in three days.

It has dawned on me just exactly how appallingly behind we will be with everything when we get back...

Second night of the show was pretty second-night-y, meaning that there wasn't as big a house, and they were pretty quiet, and the show just felt a little off.

I thought the second act sucked, me, but I was seemingly alone in that assessment. I probably felt that way because in my big scene in the second act at the bit where everyone is supposed to burst into song, they kinda dribbled into song instead, with several different keys represented.

You see, I lead the singing for the other hymns in the show, because I know the songs, have a loud voice, can set the key properly, and am placed in a spot on the stage where everyone can hear me. Cynthia has the first three qualifications down pat, but she's all the way downstage and to the side so not everyone can hear her well, and thus they muddle along during "When the Roll is Called Up Yonder" pretty much leader-free.

I am supposed to be carrying on, joining in for the chorus, but I had to slow down and not yell so much so that I could hear where the hell they were, which lessened the effectiveness of my rant.

When I got to the right point, I didn't bother with any of the keys they chose, but just chose my own. They all followed me, of course, 'cause I was the loudest!

Opening night's funniest line bobble was when Cora invited Martha to come to her cafe for a "piece of coffee, and...a piece of pie!" At least she didn't offer her a cup of pie, but, as I said afterwards:

"If your coffee is in pieces, it might be a little strong!"

Last night's instant classic was when Robert said that Ted Caffey had shot a wolf, "Shot it and killed it and took its pelt to the county agent in Centerville and killed it!" rather than "got twenty dollars for it!".

That was one dead wolf, by golly!

Got an e-mail from Lizzie-Beth yesterday, saying that she probably wouldn't be posting any more entries from the Land Where Everyone Walks Upsidedown, so I guess everyone can stop checking five times a day!!!

Of course, that may just be me...

I wonder if she has seen a kangaroo yet?
