Why are actors all as dumb as rocks?
I finally called my actors for this dim-witted show that I'm directing and left the same message every time: "Please call me back and let me know your schedule, Thursday through Sunday."
Well, two of them did that very thing, the other two rang back and left messages "Hi, it's So and So. Call me back!"
I don't want to talk to them, I just want to know when they're free!! For heaven's sake... Some actors just need kicking.
I decided where I'm going this year!
Every year I go somewhere, last year was London, the year before Chicago, the year before London, the year before Boston, etc. etc., and I have decided where I'm going this year.
I'm going to Cleveland!
Okay, so it's not London, but Randy Newman's playing with the Cleveland Symphony in August, and the second the word came down I knew that that would be my destination.
So I walked all over the office asking everyone where Ohio is.
I've never claimed to have a map in my head, for me America is New York, California, Michigan, Florida and Texas--everything else is pretty much a blur, but I was shocked at how many people I had to ask before I found someone who knew where the hell Ohio is!
I even asked two college students who are on the Dean's list! Didn't have a clue. Mia finally told me that it was near Illinois, so that cleared that up, but really people, nobody should be as bad at Geography as I am!
In the hallway at work there is this shower over a drain with a handle hanging down--it's some sort of safety thing, like in Silkwood or something, and every time I pass it I am practically overwhelmed with the urge to pull that handle!
Someday...
