Back to work yesterday.

I got to my desk and Diane and New Chick were asking me where on earth I had been yesterday and why hadn't I called? Of course, I had called, but it turned out that the little blinking light on New Chick's phone that would indicate that there was in fact a message from me saying that I was (kaffkaffkaff) sick was burned out.

They said that they had been very worried about me!
Not worried enough to call my house, it seems...

I finally got my new computer at work!

I have been begging for months, since I cannot work on the crappy new system without getting a second computer with Win95 on it (yecchh!) and a little A/B switch so that I can switch back and forth between systems, and also, incidentally, so that I don't have to be on the hideous Win 95 all damn day.

So I walked into my cubicle and found a lovely new computer!

Of course, I still can't do my job because they didn't happen to install the crappy new system on it, but one can't have everything all at once.

So at the McDonald's that now is the lucky recipient of my breakfast business they have an Employee of the Month with a big giant picture right next to the cash registers.

Last month's Employee was a chubby, sweet-faced girl pictured smiling in her uniform shirt.

This month's Employee is wearing a blue tank top, gold chains, and a half sullen, half sexy expression. It looks like she got Employee of the Month for servicing the other employees, not serving the customers...

Cynthia is free to have the baby now. I have bought film.
