23 June So I bought lunch at the deli across the street from my office, and I decided to treat myself to a piece of cherry cheesecake, because I am a very good wonderful person, and I brought it back to my desk and I'm really looking forward to eating it, 'cause I just love cherry cheesecake, so I take a big bite and I'm looking at the cheesecake, sort of idly thinking "What's that green spot? Why is it all fuzzy? Hey, WAIT a minute!!" and I spat out the bite and it was all covered with mold. Ugh. I was seriously grossed out, and I freely share my food with the cats and eat things that have fallen on the floor and never wash my hands, but this was too much even for me. Okay, fine, I won't have cheesecake then! Be that way! So instead I called my friend Donna, a yogi, about starting yoga classes.
On my way to the van, I realized that there really wasn't any food in the house, so I thought I'd pick up a slice at the Dominos that is now at the site when my bar was for years (which means that it is extremely freaky going in there!), and the guy asked me if I wanted a bag, so I said yes. I didn't know that she meant a bag instead of the nice little boxes that everyone else was getting! So by the time I got to the van I was absolutely covered in pizza grease. What was it about me was it, I wonder, that made him think "This chick doesn't want a neat little box! She wants a leaky nasty brown paper bag!" So, basically, I was foiled every time I tried to eat crap today.
O o o o o o o!!!!! My very favourite movie in all the land was on TV last night! It has never been on TV before, not ever, as far as I know, and though I have always avoided getting it on video because it's too special to see on the small screen, I taped it anyway. O, I didn't tell you what it is! It's called Les Enfants du Paradis or Children of the Paradise and it is the most perfect, most glorious, most sweepingly romantic film ever made, even if it is a 3 1/2 hour subtitled movie about mimes. I saw it for the first time when I was 8, and the second time when I was 18. I've only seen it about six or seven times in my life, but I remember every time, practically down to what I was wearing. Anyway, if you have the chance, see it. You won't be sorry.
Also last night I watched Buffy on a special night, and then VR5. They are funny to watch right in a row, because Anthony Head plays essentially the same role in both shows. I love Buffy, it's a swell show, but to me he will always be Oliver.
