So yesterday was interesting!
I hippety-hopped happily off to the House of Pancakes, had a lovely Breakfast Sampler, then decided to go back home by a different route.
Hideous error.
I mean, I have a dreadful sense of direction, I have always had a dreadful sense of direction, I don't know what I was thinking!
It's a half-hour walk, but it took me two hours to get home. It was 90°, though not humid and there was a nice breeze, and honestly, it was kind of an adventure, wandering around through Weehawken and Union City for half the afternoon, occasionally seeing a building that I had passed half an hour before, and I practically collapsed from heat-stroke, but that wasn't until home was actually in sight, so that was okay.
The best bit was that pasty-faced me, with my dead white potato eating Irish skin, got a bit of colour on my chest, arms and face!
I look practically human!
Then I drank a gallon of water, updated the Open Pages Burb List, had the weekly barbecue in the backyard with the Family, then went and saw the new Williams at Love Creek. I could have sworn that we were done, but there were two more, by golly.
My friends were all very good, but my favourite bit was the line used for the javascript title of this entry. I'll certainly be adding it to my repertoire!
Man, I watched The Last Waltz on VH1 the other night for its 20th anniversary, and it was wonderful, but so depressing to see how, in the current interviews, how Robbie Robertson, formerly the most beautiful man in rock, has aged so badly.
I mean, he's still pretty cute, but in the 20 year old footage he took my breath away.
