10 June So, Nik is reading this site! He's not on-line, so I'm printing it out for him, a bit at a time. He read August and half of September of 1996, because I started him at the beginning, and last night on our way out I gave him the rest of September and October, and he firmly told me that he wanted more recent stuff! "You don't want to read it from the beginning?" I sputtered, shocked, "I'm gonna read your book from the beginning!!" (I get to read his novel when he finishes the second draft, deadline September) but I acquiesced and will start him with December 1997 because that's when I moved and that's a good story, and I'll throw in January 1997 because that's when my Da died. Ah well, this way he'll miss the whole Candyman saga. This is not a story that shows my best side, it shows my dingbat girl side instead, and I don't think he is aware that I am a dingbat girl!
So I was wandering through CDNow.com because I keep living in hope that someday my favourite Firesign Theatre album in all the world, Waiting For the Electrician or Someone Like Him will come out on CD (I only have it in album form, and I don't have a record player), and, in curiosity, I clicked the "If you like Firesign Theatre, click here for some great recommendations" link. Apparently, if you are a Firesign fan, you are simply frothing to get the Titanic soundtrack, as well as Neil Diamond's Greatest Hits. Huh?
Walking down the street the other day, I saw a very ordinary woman in a very ordinary white shirt and yellow shorts walk out onto the sidewalk, hug her friend goodbye, then try to hail a cab. I probably would have noticed her at all if she hadn't been wearing a five foot long wedding veil...
I have discovered the most insidious product ever made.
They should be outlawed like crack.
