23 February So I spent yesterday fighting with Open Pages. Not any person, with the ring itself! I was trying to get through the damn queue, and everything took hours because the ring was so slow. By the time I finished it was time to go to the baby shower, so I didn't have time to do my very first column for Planet Amazon. When I got home at midnight, I managed to write half of it, but I had to go to sleep so I couldn't finish it. I hope I'm not fired for missing my first deadline...
The shower was swell. Cynthia was all agog and astonished and everything, and everyone was pleased about that. And Deb brought her new baby and Michelle brought her old baby, and of course Molly, the most extremely old baby of them all was there. It was Baby Central! It's funny, because Michelle and Marq are the blondest people on earth and their baby, Logan, is so blonde he's practically transparent, and Deb and Richard are both so dark, and baby Paul has this dark olive skin and a shock of blackblackblack hair, so they were like the negative and positive versions of each other. I'm going to go take pictures of him Tuesday night.
I remember last year when we were doing Junction City, I looked at Cynthia's legs and asked her why they always looked freshly shaved--did she wax them? And she said no, that she shaved them every morning in the shower. I told her that that was somewhat obsessive, since I rarely bother to shave at all (natural blonde hair, no boyfriend, jeans or ankle length skirts) and forgot about it. Then, when I was getting ready for The Unsatisfactory Supper I decided that since Kevin had to reach under my skirt there was no point in unnecessarily revolting him, so I shaved. And I kept shaving. And now I'm shaving every morning in the shower, because why not? It takes about a second and a half! What's happening to me? Am I turning into a girly girl?
I was accidentally watching Beavis and Butthead the other day, kind of half listening and not laughing, when there was a video with a cow on it and Butthead said: "You know what's really cool about cows? They can chew on their own pud!" And I fell off my chair...
