"This day is like molasses. I can feel my feet sticking to it."

I wrote that yesterday. Cut out of work early, came home, picked up my mail, and there was a package from Sandra Posey!

Last week, when I was laying myself open to the universe, Sandra wrote to me about setting my sights too low (I wished for someone to hold hands with, she told me that wishing for less than true love was a mistake) and told me about these blessed ribbons from Carnival in Brazil that you wish on as you tie around your wrist, and when it falls off, your wish comes true.

I love heart-shaped boxes of valentine's candy. I love magic wishing ribbons. I love Sandra Posey.

Since we're moving offices this week, I decided not to make the same mistake that I made when I moved house and had to either throw out or move with my empty pop bottles, so I finally returned them to the store!

I actually returned about half of them last week, but I didn't want to crow until I had actually finished the process, which I did yesterday.

So I dragged the last two bags to the store, but the machines were closed. I practically turned around to lug them back again, but I decided to ask the girl at the till when they would be fixed, and she called a guy from the back and he turned them on! So all of my carrying bags back and forth for months was just stupidity on my part (how unusual), but that doesn't matter.

The important part was that I now have $7.45 and clear shelves!

I finally watched the opening ceremonies Sunday, and I am thus far hugely unimpressed with the commentators. The stupidest thing they asked was to Tara Lipinski "What was it like for you, Tara, when you walked through that tunnel and saw all of these people here to greet you? What's the atmosphere like?"

What did they expect her to say, "I'm bored out of my mind. What an utter drag." while suppressing a yawn?

I miss Bob Costas.

It was Dave "for Chrissakes why don't I have more hits?" Van's birthday the other day, so I thought I'd give him this link.
