(The Mighty Kymm--you'll not see nothing like!)

3 February

God I felt sick yesterday.

It was really weird, because I had a reasonable amount of sleep, but I felt all day either as though I had been up for two days or that someone had energetically been pounding on my forehead with a two by four and all I wanted to do is put my head on the desk and sleep. And I felt slightly nauseous and sick to my stomach all day.

Bleh.

And I couldn't go home after work, I had to go see a show with half of the actors in New York that I know onstage and the other half in the audience. It was a wonderful show, but I really did not feel well.

The funny thing was Thomas, whom I directed in Naked Mole Rats last year, and who only has a palm and a thumb making up his left hand, and he walked onstage...

And had an entire left hand!

I realized, of course, that it was a prosthesis, but it was such a good one that I was staring at it marveling at how real it looked and trying to see the join and I really found it incredibly distracting.

Which is funny because most people would find the lack of a hand more distracting that the presence of it!

So Cynthia is having a surprise baby shower. How do I know?
Why because she told me, of course!

Apparently, Cecilia is planning it with Fran's help, which is a comedy of errors right there. So poor Francis is having to ask Cynthia elaborately casual questions like "Honey, are we doing anything on the 22nd? Why? O...no reason, just curious!" and "Apropos of nothing, who would you say your best friends in the company would be?" So Cynthia is trying very hard to be helpful and yet still pretend that she has no idea why he is asking these leading questions.

But really, Cecilia should know that the last thing husbands know is the family's schedule! Only wives know that.

You know what I love doing? Signing for packages and registered mail at work. I love the fact that my signature means something.

That when they get that green postcard back for the return receipt that I have signed, they look at my name and know that it means that the article in question has been officially received.
