So yesterday, my Mom had some slight reconstruction surgery, which meant that I had to take care of her all day.

I took her to the doctor's office at the crack of dawn, then went home and hung out for a couple of hours before I had to get her again.

When I got there, the nurse was bracing me, saying that there would be some oozing, some blood, but that it was completely normal and she didn't want me to over-react. Then they wheeled her out and I saw her, and I practically busted a gut laughing, she looked so funny.

I'll bet she didn't expect that reaction when they were preparing me for seeing her!

She had to have ice, twenty minutes on and twenty minutes off, all day long, and do you know what they gave us? A Ziplock baggie of frozen peas!

It will mold itself to anything you want--you know, it's not all stiff, and each pea is frozen individually so it stays frozen longer and stuff. She looked hilarious wearing the peas, though.

For me, Los Angeles is Christmas-town.

Since I am only here at the holidays, the picture I have in my head is an LA covered in decorations and wreaths and tinsel and things, and Christmas tree lots and Dickens on TV.

I identify LA so much as the Magical Land of Santa that I don't think I would recognize it in July.

And I have nothing else to say! So it's a short entry, rather than these novels I've been writing "And then I washed the third dish. Boy, that egg was on really good, I never thought it'd come clean! Thank goodness for Brillo!"

But you know, I'm doing so much, and I'm in my hometown so I feel that there is so much more explaining to do, you know? I mean, it's not as though most of you live in LA, so I need to make things clear.

Of course, most of you don't live in New York either, but I'm not going into this level of detail on a daily basis! My head would explode!
