(The Mighty Kymm--you'll not see nothing like!)

1 December

Well, here I am!

New digs, new design, ten million links all over the web to try desperately to change! If Inet ever comes back up, maybe I'll be able to put up forwarding notices, but now I'm counting on the grapevine to let people know.

It was funny, as of yesterday I really started to get e-mail, half of which was saying "What happened? I'm worried about you!" and the other half saying "I can't stand it any longer, what happened with the turkey?" E-mail from all over the world from strangers frothing to know how my Thanksgiving with Nik went.

And it suddenly struck me how completely strange my life is.

After work, Nik and I went to the SAG screening of Hurly Burly.

Is there any buzz on this movie at all? I mean, I knew what it was about because I remember the play on Broadway in the 80's, and of course because Kevin Spacey is in it, but I haven't heard word one about it, good or bad.

Well, my vote would be good, but I don't think it will appeal to a wide section of people outside the business. It's one of those "Hollywood Is a Hideous Den of Soulless Misogynists" movies starring Kevin, Sean Penn, Chazz Palminteri, Robin Wright Penn, Garry Shandling, Anna Paquin, and Meg Ryan.

I'm interested in what Diane will say about it, since it is pretty plot-free, but, though I certainly prefer my movies to contain plots, I didn't mind in this case because the characters were so interesting. Loathsome to a man (and woman, but mostly man), but really terribly interesting. Not to mention brilliant performances.

But everyone was so hateful! Nobody is really friends and nobody is really in love and nobody is happy. After the movie was over, I turned to Nik and said:

"Aren't you glad that we're us and we're not them?"

Commercial heard the other night: "It's so hot, so sticky, that all your baby wants is the feeling of air on her skin..."

Do they think that people who are up at 1.27a haven't yet noticed that it's December?

Today's horoscope:
Good food and pleasurable people set the scene for an excellent time. Plan or attend a dinner party.
