(The Mighty Kymm--you'll not see nothing like!)

So yesterday I was interviewed for an article in the Newark Star-Ledger 'cause I'm all famous and stuff.

It was really cool, actually, since this was not only the first time that I have done an in-person interview (besides when I was on that panel) but the first time that I have been interviewed by someone who has actually read this book! She was really nice, too.

When I originally agreed to do this like a million years ago, I was under the impression that the Newark Star-Ledger was this little podunk paper (possibly because the title contains the words "New" and "Jersey"), but it turns out that it's something like the biggest paper in the state!

Pretty groovy, huh?

Afterwards I bopped downtown and saw Smoke Signals, which I loved. I mean it's a movie about storytelling and dead fathers, two subjects that really attract me, so I was skewed towards it in the first place, but it was very well done and funny.

It was all about people who tell stories to each other, and find themselves through these stories. Who could ask for anything more? I fell for Thomas, the little geeky one with the big smile who couldn't stop talking over the big tall handsome basketball player, but I'm funny that way.

I am in awe.

Both Diane and Lucy manage to be so cavalier about their birthdays, Lucy mentioning it only a couple of days beforehand and Diane bringing it up (gasp choke) after the fact! I wish I could be so evolved.

But I cannot! It's my birthday in nine days!

Fran asked "Do you have an Advent calendar devoted to the Great Birthday Countdown?" so you know that I'm exactly as impossible in real life as I am here, so just think how much more annoying I would be if you really knew me!

There's a new webring to your left, perhaps you have not noticed.

Well, Columbine, who writes the wonderful Alewife Bayou and the equally wonderful Stay Tuned has started Thinking Aloud, a new ring specifically for...journals that Columbine likes!

Who could resist an invitation like that? Not me, baby. When someone I admire likes my writing, I turn to jello instantly.
