25 September
So last night I stayed at work forever, but I wasn't working, I was futzing.
Pretty cool, huh?
I have always considered computer manipulation of photographs to be cheating, but now that I have found out how easy and fun it is and what wonderful results you can get just by pressing a couple of buttons...
I mean, if I could paint, that's exactly the painting that I would make, but I can't paint, and it would be wrong of me to suggest that I can. But I did take the picture, and I did change it to fit my vision...so is it art? Perhaps, but it's still cheating.
I was standing at the reception desk the other day, and Kelly was on the phones and she picked up a called from a sales rep and started teasing him, and passed the call through by saying "It's that geek in the mid-west." I asked who it was, and she said "C'mon, mid-west! Who's the sales rep in the mid-west!" And I said "If it ain't NY or LA, it's all the mid-west to me, baby."
Every day practically I go to the same place for lunch and walk the same route, but yesterday I walked back to the office via a different street than usual, and on this short street among the apartment buildings there were like five really interesting shops, two churches and a Christian Science Reading Room. I've been working in this neighbourhood for two and a half years, on and off, and I've never walked down that street. I really must explore my immediate surroundings a bit more thoroughly.
If there is a word in the wide wide world that makes me shudder it's 'lover'. I hate loathe despise and abominate it when someone introduces or refers to someone else as their 'lover'. Yecchh!
Far too clinical if you ask me.
