(The Mighty Kymm--you'll not see nothing like!)

14 September

So yesterday I went to the grocery store, and you know how they say that you shouldn't shop hungry? Well, shopping full is no great shakes either, as after I got all of the cat food and paper towels that I needed I was stumped! So I got a lemon pie and two potatoes.

Then I went to see The Game, which was just swell. It's such fun to see a film that surprises me, you know? I mean usually when I see a suspense film I'm a step or two ahead at all time (not because I'm all brilliant, but because mainstream Hollywood films tend to be aimed at the level of the stupidest person in the audience), but this movie kept me constantly guessing. It reminded me of After Hours, a bit, with it's creeping sense of paranoia.

So after the movie yesterday I went to The Body Shop, a store in which I rarely allow myself to go as I tend to buy all kinds of smelly goopy stuff that I don't even remotely need.

Okay, wait, ya'll need some backstory.

I'm spending alot of time boring my friends to tears talking about The Candyman, and one friend keeps telling me to leap. I'll tell her about something he said or did, and she'll say "Me in that situation: leap.."

Well, I walked into The Body Shop, and I saw a whole wall of bath gel and lotion and cologne and soap and powder and this and that called Leap! And it smelled really good, so I got the bath gel and the powder.

I figured it was a good omen.

Did you see Miss America last night?

At first I was rooting for Miss Arizona, because she just looked like a nice person, but then I really was rooting for Miss Illinois, aka Xena (honestly, she's a dead ringer) because she had the coolest bathing suit and sang well and she just towered over all of the other girls, so I identified with her. And then she won!

Go Xena!

John Cleese and Michael Palin should be physically restrained, if necessary, from ever doing the Parrot Sketch again. That horror on Saturday Night Live last night was the most joyless, dead version of a classic bit of TV comedy that I have ever in my life seen. It almost (not quite, but almost) ruined the sketch for me forever.
