28 October Yesterday was a very sleepy day at work. Not just on my part, either--everyone was walking around with half-closed eyes. And I only got about four phone calls all day, rather than the four million that I usually get of a Monday, so I guess this phenomena was echoed in offices all over the nation.
I went to the Body Shop again yesterday. I know, I know, but when I got home the other day I found that the box of Japanese Washing Grains that I got on Friday was in fact the tester, not to mention the fact that I needed more Henna Hair Wax and Hawthorne Hand Cream. I swan, that Hawthorne Hand Cream is like crack. I only just started using it, but I am absolutely addicted. I may start stealing to support my habit. Anyway, I thought I did pretty well, because I only also bought two other things that I never have before, some Marmalade Scrub and some Honey Oatmeal Facial Scrub. Between the Washing Grains and those two scrubs, I'm gonna be the most exfoliated person you know!
I've often wondered why I dislike this one woman at work so much. I always thought that it was because she was too friendly and in my face, which sometimes really bugs the shit out of me. But it's not that, not entirely. It's that several months ago she recognized a picture of my Da on the shelf and asked if he was an actor and I said yeah and she asked if she could have his autograph. I told her that he had died recently, and she asked if my mother could forge it or something.
I mean, I didn't want her to weep on my neck or anything, but I really was a bit upset by her reaction.
While I was waiting for the subway the other day, I had the joy of listening to a man playing hurdy-gurdy music on an accordion accompanied by a man playing the spoons. The minutes flew by like days, I'll tell you. It was like being trapped inside a carousel.
