27 October While I was cooking my dinner last night, I washed the dishes and scrubbed out the pot that I burned back in July (no, it wasn't rotting, it was completely clean but for the burned bits) and then I decided to go through the cupboards. I figure that if it's over seven years old then I don't really want to move with it, and honestly, if I ever want to use honey I'm sure to prefer to shell out for some new honey rather than use that solid lump of honey that I got in Scotland in 1990. Plus, I sincerely doubt that I'm going to use curry or cumin or basil anytime soon, so out it went. The cupboard is nearly empty!
So I was talking to Ken after the show last night, and he's not gay! I could have sworn he was gay. I guess it's because he was with Peter when I first met him, and he does flirt with Peter, but everyone, gay or straight, male or female, animal vegetable or mineral, flirts with Peter. Plus he leaps about like an elf or something--he practically has pointy shoes! I told him though, that I would accept him as a straight person, that I knew it wasn't a choice. He was just born that way!
Haven't heard a peep from The Candyman since I gave him that ultimatum two weeks ago. And the funny thing is that I'm not upset about it. I was always much much more upset when I expected him to call and he didn't. Now I do not expect him to call, so if he ever does, it'll just be a lovely treat! And it's not as though I don't have too much to do to see him now anyway even if he wanted to! I know he'll invite me to his show, he's much too egotistical not to!
I realized that I have successfully added the word "swell" to my vocabulary. I did it quite consciously, and it only took about six months or so for it to become completely natural. Now I've got to work on "keen", "nifty", "groovy" and "peculiar". O, and "boss". I've never used that word before, but when I saw American Graffiti they used it all the time, and I really liked it, so I'm going to try to throw it in every once in a while. That is so boss!
