Busy weekend. Why do I leave no time to actually sleep?

John and I went to see In the Company of Men, which I must say is a scarier film than any Friday the 13th I've ever seen. It truly is a horror film, and the lead is more frightening than Jason and Freddy and Leatherface put together. Actually, he reminds me a great deal of my darling Iago--smart and amoral and dead inside. Terrific film.

It was funny, though, because both John and I thought he was just like a guy who works at the Company That Must Not Be Named. We haven't necessarily seen that guy fuck over everyone in sight, but he's certainly capable of it.

Then afterwards I went over to sit for Molly so that Cynthia and Fran could wander off and celebrate their anniversary.

Here's the funniest story of the evening:
We were sitting in the living room, and Molly looks at me and says "Make?" and I say "You want to do it in the bathroom?" and she says "Okay", so we go into the bathroom and she flops down on her little potty and I say, "You know Molly, you're supposed to take off your pants and your diaper first", but she's sitting there happily. It's like she's worked out part of this whole toilet concept, but the point actually eludes her.

Anyway, she gets up, looks at me and says "One two three four" and I sing back "One two three four, can I have a little more?" and she says "Okay" and sits back down.

And I laughed for five minutes.

And I have finally finally finally been given permission to spill the news:

Cynthia and Fran are having another baby! Yay!

They didn't want to tell anyone until they told Katie, and they didn't want to tell Katie right away, so I've been biting the inside of my cheek for simply months. I told Cynthia though, that since I was supposed to take pictures of Molly's birth, and she was inconsiderately born two days before I came back to New York from my Xmas holiday that year, it was awfully considerate of her to get pregnant again to give me another shot at it!

And alright alright alright, I do not know that it's seven inches, for crying out loud. I guess it just shows how optimistic one can be, slough of despond or no.
