Finished painting yesterday!

I thought it would only take two hours but it took four, and I finished the living room and all of the trim. I didn't do the doors, because I ran out of paint, but I can do those anytime.

It's funny, you can really see the difference between the places painted early either yesterday or last Sunday, and the places painted late. I become much less careful about the edges!

Afterwards, on my way home, I had the traditional Thanksgiving dinner of a grilled cheese sandwich with bacon and tomato at the Dine-O-Mat. They had a turkey dinner, but I didn't really see the point. I mean, I'm having turkey for Christmas dinner, so I didn't feel the need to eat it yesterday.

I don't know, I've never had a major attachment to Thanksgiving as being this big old family time, because, except for my junior year of high school, I haven't had it at home since I was thirteen. For me it's just a day where I don't have to go to work!

I know it's not funny, but the fact that people were injured by the Cat in the Hat balloon at the Macy's parade. I understand that no-one's gonna die, thank goodness, but can you imagine how embarrassing that would be?

"Did you hear? George died!"
"O my God, how did it happen?"
"Well, um, he was killed by a beloved children's icon..."

Today is Randy Newman's birthday! He is 54 years old. And as though that wasn't enough, it's also Melody's birthday! She is not 54 years old.
