19 November I spent yesterday being trained on the new AP system. The guy training us was very sweet, but he was a bit too salesman-like for me. He kept saying stuff like "So you do this. Now you're thinking 'He's crazy! Why would I do that?' but let me explain." Now that doesn't sound too annoying, but after about seven hours of that, I was really over it. He pretty much sussed, though, that I was going to figure things out much faster than Diane, and stopped treating me as though I have never seen a computer before. Plus, I figured out that the check-paying system that he had worked out would actually about triple our workload rather than make things easier, so he was able to figure out another angle in which to do it. You see, just because a bill is due for payment that doesn't mean that we're paying it this week, and it was really cute how shocked he was at that idea!
More thoughts on K-Mart. I had never actually been to K-Mart before, and have always thought about it as kind of a low-rent place. We walked in, I saw clothes, and the first words out of my mouth were "What kind of trailer-park trash would buy clothes at K-Mart?" That would, I imagine, be me, since I immediately bought pyjamas and a tank top! And I was looking around and everything was so cheap and there was so much swell stuff that clearly this is a place that I should avoid at all costs, like Lechters and The Body Shop. Of course, the service stinks hugely, but I imagine that they keep the prices so low by paying their employees shit wages, and you sure get what you pay for. But at $139 for a thirteen inch TV, it's worth it!
Ahem. So yesterday both Project Cool and Cool Site of the Day picked the exact same site, Kvetch. It's official! They have run out of sites!
At long last, the Countdown to the Big Four-Zero is at an end! Be sure to wish Nigel a happy blastoff!
