10 November Yesterday I was watching skating on TV and feeling pretty neutral, then I heard my father's voice. It was the Foxy Lettuce commercial! People at work have been telling me for two weeks that they've been seeing it, but I haven't been watching alot of TV so I hadn't seen it until yesterday. I'll tell ya, something like that will put you in a good mood for the rest of the day.
Spent the weekend hiding from the rain, watching skating on TV, and going through some video tapes of shows that I have been taping from day one but have never watched. I taped them assuming that I would love them, and I was very right! First of all Ally McBeal, which is a completely wonderful, kind of goofy show. It has Peter McNichol in it, which is a giant plus as far as I'm concerned, as I thought Chicago Hope lost alot when he left, and the marvelous David Kelley style. Dig little Calista Flockhart as well. The other one was Michael Hayes. I am one of the few people who stopped watching NYPD Blue when Caruso left the show, as there just wasn't anything to hold my attention anymore--he was the heart and soul of that show. What I love about him is that there always seems to be so much going on under the surface that the character is unable to show (come to think of it, that's why I love Peter McNichol as well). It's great to have him back on TV again. I also watched my tape of The E Emmy Fashion Review. Was Joan Rivers drunk? She seemed even loonier than usual.
I found two absolutely glorious sites the other day, Yet another Web Thing and karawynn: the rest of me. I have been meaning to read Karawynn's for simply ages, as I looked at it a long time ago and thought "Ooh! This looks good! I had best wait until I have a proper amount of time in which to spend there!", bookmarked it, then skipped away tralala and completely forgot to ever come back. I think I only bookmarked Web Thing the other day, and clicked on it when I was at the front desk (I read one at one desk and one at the other). The interesting part was when I got to the parts where they started talking about each other! I thought it was funny that I started reading them completely independently of each other on the very same day and it turned out that there was this unexpected connection. It's a small web-world after all, ain't?
Just saw a picture of Mickey Rourke. What the hell happened to him? He looks ghoulish. Everyone jokes about Keith Richards looking like an animated corpse or something, but I've always thought that he looks fine, if a little craggy. Mickey Rourke on the other hand, looks like a 70 year old woman who has had way too much plastic surgery. Remember how he looked in Diner? Exactly how many drugs do you have to take to deteriorate that quickly?
