(The Mighty Kymm--you'll not see nothing like!)

2 November

Well, Dracula closed last night.

I'm halfway between "at last" and "I'll miss it".
I mean it'll be nice to have my nights to myself again, but I'm so glad that I did it in the first place, because I got some wonderful pictures out of it (I really must scan them in for you), it certainly has been a neverending font of material for entries, I met Ken and Ed, and I got to be friends with Peter again. I really missed him this past year, especially when my Da died.

Another reason I'll miss the show is because of the fact that in these three short weeks I became a regular both at the deli on the corner that sells British candy and at the coffee shop down the street where I would race every night during the second intermission yelling "Toastedbagelcreamcheese, as quickly as possible!!"

I love being a regular.

I wasn't certain how the house would be, because on the one hand you have closing night syndrome, where half of the friends of the cast go "Holy cow! Tonight's our last chance!" but on the other hand it was raining, which always makes people stay home because they're made of sugar and will melt.

The former outweighed the latter in this case--we had practically a full house of good, attentive, non-jeering parents of the cast.

Before the show I took pictures of Peter Rabbit, as he is quite blazingly handsome in his white tie and tails. Got a great shot of him in profile wearing the top hat. He's not a particularly good model, because he feels silly which makes him act silly, but he's so good looking that you can't help but end up with good pics.

After the show, I shot Jackie, who plays Lucy, after the show in her post-vampire attire, as they were dismantling the set out from under us. She's a good model, because she realizes that it's just acting, you know? The camera is the audience and you act at it.

So says the worst model alive! I'm horrendous, because I get so hung up on how I look.

I was majorly spacy during the show.

I totally forgot about two cues and just sat there happily reading until Rebecca whispered "Umm...lights?" and I would start and flip the cue. After the second time I whispered to Rebecca "It's a good thing the show is closing, because I am not capable of paying attention to it anymore!"

Afterwards there was a party at Ed's place, so I hung out and waited for Peter as they struck the set, and we walked over. I was there for almost five minutes before I had to leave. It wasn't that it was the smallest apartment I've ever been in--I don't mind small spaces. It's people I don't like, and a small space full of people is pretty difficult. Then Ed turned off the lights and it was a small hot airless dark place full of people, so I kissed Peter and I kissed Ed and I bolted. I was pretty close to an asthma attack anyway because of the humidity, so enough was enough.

I'm glad I went, though, if only because I got to walk over with Peter. God knows when I'll see him again now that the show is over, so it was worth it.

One last story.

I walked in before the show, and Matt was doing this really fast patter song as his warm-up. I about-faced back out the door, ran into T.J. and said "I don't think I've ever in my life heard anything so annoying as Matt's warmup" and he said
"You mean you've never seen him onstage?"
