21 March I have another new theory about work: It is vitally important not to care. Now, I don't mean that you shouldn't do a good job or anything, I just mean that you should put in your time and do what you have to do, and then go home. Not come in on the weekends or stay 'till 10 when you don't get overtime, not agonize and worry and drive yourself crazy. Remember, darlings, when it come to work, it is vitally important not to care.
Everyone but two of the people in Billing have accents. Mostly Jamaican and Trinidadian and the other islands. The reason I bring this up is because Patricia was talking with a client, and he said that he wanted to talk to someone who spoke English! I was dying because he could have been passed around all over the room and got accent after accent until his head exploded! Besides the fact that English is the native language on the islands!
John brought his tuna salad to work yesterday, and insisted that I try some, even though he knows perfectly well that I'm the pickiest eater in the entire world and I don't like fish and I don't like food all mixed together and I only like my Mom's tuna salad and he FORCED me to eat it anyways, and then was all miffed that I didn't like it!
A hint for those job hunting: If you don't know who the Violent Femmes are, and have to have the name spelled for you twice before you can type it into a computer, you can still probably get a job at the information desk at Virgin.
