15 March Well, I decided better safe than really quite incredibly sorry, so I went through the archives and removed all traces of the name of the company for which I work, as well as particular names of particular people whom I have been particularly mean about and names of important people in this company with really unusual names.
I was Very Very Brave yesterday!
I was at the front desk when a scruffy looking guy came round The Company That Must Not Be Named asking for "Marcy". I didn't know Marcy, so I sent him down to the lab. Then, Lydia tiptoed out of the kitchen, and told me that there is in fact no Marcy--that they had put an ad in the paper saying to send or fax resumes and they used the code name Marcy so that when the crazies came by, they wouldn't bother any real people. Of course, no-one told me that... So, the scruffy guy came back up to the back door, and they sent him back to me, calling me to warn me. So he wanted to talk to a manager, and I said "If you're looking for a job, just leave your resume" and he said "I don't have a resume" so I said "Then go home and write one!" and he kept trying to get to see someone and I finally chased him away, even though I was scared. Wasn't I Very Very Brave?
I've taken to calling this my book. When the guy from systems told me about seeing this page, I said "So, you read my book?" and he said "It's a very good book!" and when I was berating my mother for not reading the printout that I gave her, I said "I can't believe that I wrote a book and you aren't reading it!" So, I hope you're enjoying my book!
Yesterday there was a big fuss in Billing, because everyone there eats Chinese food nearly every day, and someone had heard on the radio about Chinese restaurants serving dog and getting arrested, so people were practically sticking their fingers down their throats. I thought it was hilarious how squeamish they were, but I haven't eaten Chinese food for ages, so I could afford to laugh.
Don't forget, NEW PHOTOS on the photo page, darlings!
