8 March Well, I'm going through withdrawal. Jim fixed my computer and I took it home, but I had to configure my new modem and I couldn't figure out how to do it! It said in the instruction manual (you know, the one written in OUTER MONGOLIAN) to type in some letters and numbers, but it neglected to say WHERE I should type them in. In the DOS prompt? In Word? On the typewriter at my mother's house? WHERE??!!
I suppose they think that it's so obvious that they don't need to tell you , but let me make this perfectly clear, o manual writers:
IT'S NOT!!!So, I called tech support, and they told me some lies, and I was about to call again, when my phone line went dead. Sigh... So I had to wait until this afternoon and come into work so I could update and check my e-mail and everything and nobody was there and the door was locked but luckily Alexey arrived just as I was stomping out the door and it's all just a BIG PAIN!!
I did however have my photo class today, and stayed for four extra hours afterward and made about twenty contact sheets and blew up Perfect Day and a really sweet picture of my dear little Rhubarb who just died, and I'll send a copy to Mom. I think I'm finally figuring out this colour thing--it's hellish complicated...
Next to where I take class is a gay and lesbian bookstore called A Different Light, and when I went out to get lunch I had a glance in the window and saw this children's book called Daddy's Wedding and on the cover was this cheerful, colourful drawing of two men in tuxedos feeding each other cake and it's about the funniest thing that I've ever seen in my life.
I saw a girl wearing grey camouflage, and I have never been so confused. Green camouflage is for jungles, I know, and brown camouflage is for deserts, but what the hell is grey camouflage for? The moon?
