(The Mighty Kymm--you'll not see nothing like!)

16 June

Well, I ended up having an okay Father's Day after all.
Meaning that I completely ignored it. I ran into my friends Marq and Michelle on the street and teased Marq about being so dressed up and they chorused "It's Father's Day!" and I thought o yeah, I forgot.

And the reason I was able to forget is because I spent the day babysitting for Katie and Molly so that Cynthia could go and see Francis' tech. And we had a swell time going to McDonald's and the park where Molly fell asleep in the baby swing. We went home and Katie went out to play and Molly napped and I amused myself by mentally arranging my furniture in their apartment.

Because you see, when Cynthia buys a house for me to move into the top floor, it will likely be similar to the one they are living in now, as many houses in Weehawken are laid out in the same fashion.

So that's how I got through Father's Day. That and all the wonderful e-mails that I got. You people are really terrific. Thank you so much.

The other day I was talking about hearing a song by Third Eye Blind on TV and rushing out the very next day and buying the album, and I was thinking that I've only ever done that three other times in my whole life!!!

The first time was I was in London in the 80's sometime and I was in a record store and this incredible song came on and I ran to the counter crying "Who is that?! I must have that album!!" That was Violent Femmes, the album was Hallowed Ground and the song that was playing in HMV was Country Death Song.

The second time was again in a record store in New York--same thing, rushing to the clerk in full cry, and the artist was Christine Lavin, the album was Good Thing He Can't Read My Mind and the song was Mysterious Woman.

And the most recent time was when I saw Natural Born Killers and when the movie was over I walked out of the theatre and across the street to Tower and bought the soundtrack without even taking a breath.
I had never heard a Leonard Cohen song before, I am ashamed to say, but I had seen pictures of him and wondered in passing what the hell Rebecca DeMornay was doing with that old man.

Well, the second I heard The Future I didn't wonder anymore.

I checked out an astrology site the other day, and if you ever needed proof positive that astrology is a steaming pile of crapola, see below.

"If ever there was a good time for you to merge the yin with the yang it is now. Because of hot new developments in your love life, new flirting skills prove helpful. Understand, organize and repeat provocative communications signals. You can figure out this love and desire thing."

Ha ha ho.

At the subway stop outside my job when a train is coming, literally gale force winds blow down the tunnel. I always want to throw my arms around one of the poles and scream "Twister's comin'! Take cover!!"
