6 July Sorry this is so late, darlings, but Netcom refused to recognize my username/password combination this morning and then I had to go to rehearsal, so I had no choice but to wait until now!
So, I lived through the wedding!
I was pretty worried that I would fuck up royally, and of course I won't know until I get the proofs back, but I think I got some good ones. Christ, out of 20 rolls I damn well should have! But I won't get too enthusiastic until I see them. Everybody was very happy with my attitude, though. Rosemary kept telling me how great I was for this job, 'cause I'm so calm and I make alot of joke which calm people down. Of course, I wasn't even remotely calm, but I was masking it well. Anyway, the wedding was beautiful, and the priest went like the wind, so it was mighty quick for a Catholic wedding. I thought I'd feel intrusive wandering around the church trying to get shots, but I didn't, really. I would have if I was using a flash, though. And I was at the apartment early and got shots of Rosemary getting ready, and some good stuff outside the church, and then we went to the reception and the whole thing was about 8 1/2 hours long and I was simply exhausted at the end!
Of course, there had to be a hiccup, and mine was when I was chewing on a piece of potato and my crown came off. Again. Last time it was cauliflower, for heaven's sake; I'd understand if it was peanut brittle or something! Anyway, I spat out my tooth and the manager said "Things like that always happen at the most inconvenient time!" And I said "There really isn't a good time for your teeth to be flying out of your skull!"
When I got home I was desperate to go to sleep but it was only 6.30p and I would have gotten up at 4 or so, which wouldn't be particularly good, so I decided to stay up until 10, and I forced myself to stay awake, practically crying with exhaustion, and then it was 10p and boy was I awake! After all that, I didn't go to sleep until midnight! Sigh...
Boy, it sure did feel like Sunday yesterday. I spent half an hour searching for the Sunday paper, and was quite annoyed that nobody had one!
