I saw another movie last night, Night Falls on Manhattan this time.
So, the movie was good. It starred Andy Garcia as an Irish lawyer (yeah, I've always thought he was as Irish as Paddy's pig. With a Cuban accent.), and in the most bizarre bit of casting on this good green earth, Ian Holm plays his father.
In what universe are Ian Holm and Andy Garcia from the same gene pool? I guess the same universe in which Sean Connery, Dustin Hoffman, and Matthew Broderick are members of the same family.
So, like I said before I got sidetracked, it was a good, though oddly detatched and bluish/brownish film with a documentary feel. Richard Dreyfuss and Ron Leibman were very good, and Lena Olin as the love interest should sue the cinematographer, 'cause she looks like Andy's grandmother in some shots. And Andy has his hair falling over his forehead for most of the pic, which is his best look, and he plays high moral outrage better than almost anyone, so it was a good evening at the theatre.
And John extra-ed in it and got some decent screen time in the first scene, as he was sitting right behind Andy, but forgive me if I don't do backflips over it. I don't understand excitement over extra work. But maybe if it was me I'd be as thrilled, I don't know.
So, I was finishing my entry the other night, and I suddenly heard this sound, looked up, and saw this giant BEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!! Not just any bee, either, it was a bumblebee! I'm terrified of bumblebees, so I really coolly and calmly ran screaming into the kitchen to get my flying insect spray. I sprayed it at the bee, which also meant that I was spraying it into the ceiling fan, so it was whipped all over the apartment in a twink. Then it fell into a cardboard box with all of my unused checks, and I just kept spraying and spraying and used up about half of the can. Which basically means that every check I send out for the next year will absolutely reek of inscect spray.
